Andrew SchorCo-Founder, Co-CEO
Andrew Schor is Co-Chief Executive of InterCapital Group and has been exclusively involved in the multifamily industry for more than 30 years. Over the course of his career, Mr. Schor has assembled apartment portfolios aggregating more than 110,000 units, and has had direct responsibility for the acquisition, capitalization, financing, renovation, marketing, management and disposition of those properties. Mr. Schor has been active in real estate transactions throughout the United States, has owned and managed investment portfolios of properties throughout the country valued at over $7 billion, and has handled all substantive phases of real estate ownership and management. Mr. Schor holds degrees from Brown University, Oxford University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
Edward BiskindCo-Founder, Co-CEO
Edward Biskind is Co-Chairman and Co-Managing Partner of InterCapital Group. Mr. Biskind is a real estate professional with over 45 years of executive experience in all aspects of real estate investment, management and development.  With particular expertise in multi-family housing, his background has run the gamut from hands-on field construction to acquisition/rehab and ground-up greenfield development.  Mr. Biskind’s career began in a successful Cleveland based family-owned home building and commercial real estate enterprise. He opened his own office in Chicago after graduate school in 1989. His activities have included the development and operation of regional malls, office buildings and power centers, townhome and single family communities, and particularly multifamily assets, throughout the United States.  He has completed landmark multifamily and luxury for-sale residential projects throughout the country.  Mr. Biskind is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University and holds an MBA degree from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.
Melissa PiankoPartner
Melissa Pianko has over 20 years of experience in real estate investments, development, and asset management.  She joined InterCapital as a Partner in November 2023 where she is responsible for investments and asset management.  Together with Benjamin Schor, she is Co-CEO of DayRise Residential, its affiliated property manager.  Previously, she was a Managing Director at Blackstone where she led asset management for Blackstone’s 300k unit US and Canadian residential portfolio (apartments, affordable housing and single- family rentals). From 2005 to 2016, Ms. Pianko oversaw development for Gotham Organization, a privately held NYC multifamily developer.  She started her career at Goldman Sachs in municipal finance and real estate investment banking.

Ms. Pianko received an MBA from Stanford and a BA from Columbia.  She was named to Crain’s NY 40 Under 40 in 2012.  She is on the boards of NYU’s Furman Center and non-profit Women in Need, a full Member of Urban Land Institute (Multifamily Silver Council) and of Stanford Real Estate Council.
Benjamin SchorPartner
Benjamin Schor serves as Partner and is responsible for InterCapital's investment and asset management business. Since joining in 2013, Benjamin has focused on real estate investments across the United States totaling over 50,000 units and approximately $4 Billion in asset value. In addition to his role at InterCapital, Mr. Schor is Co-CEO of Dayrise Residential, a national property management company and affiliate of InterCapital.

Mr. Schor graduated from Yale University, where he received his MBA. He received his BS in International Relations from Boston University. He currently resides in New York.
Erich KlothenPrincipal
Erich Klothen is a Principal at InterCapital Group and Chief Operating Officer of Dayrise Residential, its affiliated property management company. Since joining Dayrise in 2019, Mr. Klothen has specialized in transaction management with an emphasis on due-diligence for all acquisitions and dispositions. Prior to joining InterCapital, Mr. Klothen served in the United States Peace Corps as a volunteer in Albania, where he worked on economic development projects. He attended Wesleyan University and Rutgers University.
Brooke BansalSenior Director, Asset Management
Brooke Bansal serves as the Senior Director of Asset Management and is responsible for strategic planning and operational execution within Intercapital’s portfolio. Brooke initially joined Dayrise Residential in 2019 and advanced to the level of Director of Investor Relations. During that time, she oversaw the implementation of value-add programs to residential assets,managed a regional team, and fostered close relationships with Dayrise’s investment partners. Prior to joining Dayrise and InterCapital, Ms. Bansal worked in multi-family operations in Houston, Texas. She has over 10 years of experience in the multifamily industry. Ms. Bansal earned her MBA from Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. She received her BS from the University of Oklahoma. Ms. Bansal has also authored in the National Apartment Association publication. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
Anastasia GurneyDirector, Asset Management
Anastasia Gurney is a Director of Asset Management at InterCapital and is responsible for evaluating and executing operational strategies for the portfolio. Prior to joining InterCapital, Ms. Gurney worked with global real estate ownership groups, including Related Companies and Brookfield Properties, accumulating over 12 years of expertise in multifamily operations and asset management.

Ms. Gurney earned her Master’s in Finance from Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College and, a BA in Psychology from Hunter College, and a BA in International Relations from Bryansk State University in Russia. After spending 18 years in New York City, she currently resides in Atlanta.
Mats FioletAssociate
Mats Fiolet is an Associate of InterCapital Group. Since joining Dayrise in 2021, Mats has focused on creating a data-driven dialogue between investors and Dayrise Residential. Using strategy and analytical skills, he ensures clarity and understanding of current performance and projected output to all stakeholders. Prior to joining Dayrise, Mats worked for a Dutch international real estate investor and served as a certified financial advisor in mortgages and investments, where he was responsible for reallocating investment capital and refinancing residential mortgages of several hundred clients. Mats received his BA from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and is currently pursuing graduate studies in Real Estate Finance at the University of Amsterdam.
Sydney SchorAssociate
Sydney Schor is an Associate at InterCapital Group. She joined Dayrise, InterCapital group’s affiliated property management company in 2019, and moved over to the InterCapital team in 2021. Sydney has focused on strategically supporting operations, investments, and client relations. Prior to joining Dayrise, Sydney worked at Greystone, a NYC based private commercial real estate finance and investment company. She received her BA in Finance from Southern Methodist University
Geetu ThaniAssociate
Geetu Thani is an Associate focusing on Portfolio Analytics at InterCapital. She is responsible for translating business needs into actionable insights and opportunities as well as streamlining reporting processes. Ms. Thani joined InterCapital's affiliate, Dayrise Residential, in 2021 where she worked closely with the operations team and led the development of the company's business intelligence platform. Ms. Thani has over 10 years of experience in multifamily business operations, financial analysis, budgeting, reporting and data analytics. She earned her MBA in Finance at the University of Houston and her BA from the University of Lethbridge in Canada
